All change on the Chart Show! Radio 1 chart countdown gets a new voice (and face) for the new year

Clara Amfo is to replace Jameela Jamil as host of the Official Chart Show on Radio 1, it has today been confirmed.

Clara, a Radio 1XTRA presenter, will replace Jameela from January 2015. Jamil is stepping down as host of the three hour show - which airs on Sunday from 4pm - after two years. She said she decided to quit after a recent cancer scare "jolted" her to "travel and work abroad".

New host Clara Amfo said is was an "absolute honour" to take over the reins of the show, describing it as a "dream come true". She added that she "can't wait to announce the UK's number one for the first time".
