That's according to The British Sandwich Association, who have been scrutinising data from the UK's supermarkets. Research has revealed we spend £7.5 billion on sandwiches every year, and that the market is growing at a rate of 5.8%!

The second most popular sarnie is prawn, according to the research, with the BLT (Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato) in third place.
Chicken seems to the the favourite filling overall - four of the top nine sandwiches in the UK have chicken in, and figures show Brit's consume 43,000 tonnes of chicken on sandwiches every year!
