Congratulations, Ben! TV critics shocked as Haenow wins The X Factor 2014

Ben Haenow has shocked bookies and TV critics by winning The X Factor 2014.

Haenow, from Croydon, beat Fleur East to take the X Factor crown, after the two went head-to-head in a packed Wembley Arena.

After the show, Ben took to Twitter to say: "Cannot explain how amazing this feels" adding: "Happiest man alive right now". This morning, he tweeted: "Woke up and thought I'd dreamt last night!".

Simon Cowell, the shows boss and mentor of BOTH acts in the final, told Ben after his win: "You deserved it, you're a great guy" adding: "This is your moment".

Over 10 million votes are thought to have been cast, with Ben taking 57% of the vote against Fleur. On Saturday night, Andrea had been knocked out of the competition, leaving just Haenow and East to battle it out.

Runner up Fleur took to twitter to congratulate Ben, saying he was "such a lovely guy".
