Today's Talkers - What to chat about as you get the change!

Hello all! I've decided to launch a Daily Talker - three things you could talk about with your customers, clients or friends today...all are topical, current, mood lifting and non-controversial (I hope). Please do let me know if you have any suggestions for conversation starters and topics, and comment in the forum below. Have a great Tuesday!

1. I'm a Celebrity Is Back!
Yes, the UK's favourite TV show is heading back to our screens on Sunday 16 November 2014. It's that show when famous faces are dropped into a jungle in the middle of Australia and must compete in challenges to survive. Why not drop in that you 'can't wait for the new series in two weeks' into a conversation, or ask for a bit of speculation on which celebrities will be dropped in the jungle?
This one is recommended for; Hairdressers, or friends (especially during a coffee break or the lunch hour)

2. Strictly Come Dancing: Should Zoe Ball become a full time presenter?
Image of Zoe - BBC.
Yes, I'm sorry we are staying with the theme of reality TV shows but this is one important question! Over the weekend, Zoe Ball (pictured) stepped in for Claudia Winkleman on the BBC Strictly Come Dancing programme after Claudia's child was ill. Zoe, who already presents the spin-off It Takes Two show, was hailed as a hit by fans who wanted to keep her on the main show...but were split on whether she should replace Tess Daly (who she presented alongside) or Claudia. As of last night, 85% of respondents to a Mirror.co.uk poll poll had said Zoe should replace one of them; 32% said Claudia, 53% said Tess. So why not ask a client if they saw the show (9 million Brits did) and if so, whether they thought Zoe was a good presenter, or not?
This one is recommended for; Hairdressers, again, as its a great chance to discuss TV. Or, its a good office talker as we all love a bit of weekend TV!

3. I don't like how the nights are drawing in so early
Ok, so its a stereotypical one, but it's always a winner...especially if your on the checkout for the late shift! Discussing how its getting dark so early, especially if your till is located near a window or the door, is a perfect little musing that the customer is going to like...they will either agree or say they find it cosy - something you can, of course, agree with! So, give them that cosy feel, and ask them a question about the weather and great outdoors!
This one is recommended for; Customer Service / Till assistants (especially on a shift after 4pm!!)

Remember to keep smiling, take each customer as they come & enjoy yourself! See you again sometime...

Ben.
