I'm A Celebrity: Star Gemma Collins fights back tears as she discusses her ordeal on live TV

Reality TV star Gemma Collins has fought back tears as she revealed details of her ordeal in the jungle. The TOWIE regular told This Morning that, in hindsight, "I should never have got on the plane to go".

Gemma had endured a trauma just 24 hours before leaving for the jungle, and said she had only gone on the show in order to not let anyone down,  describing appearing on I'm a Celeb as a "dream" job she had always wanted.

Due to legal issues, it could not be discussed on the show the nature of the events (described by Collins as a "trauma") which occurred just before Gemma left for the jungle.

The star also said being in the Jail Jungle took its toll on her, saying that on the fourth day in the Slammer, she "hit rock bottom", and she couldn't cope on the 500-calorie jungle diet, saying she was "starving".

Gemma said that any fee she received for her short stint on the ITV show would be donated to a charity helping "starving children".
